We set out during lockdown to walk the entire length of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal. As this is close to where we live we started near the middle and worked outwards in both directions. As we used the car to the start of the walks it also meant that most walks were there and back so many sections were walked twice.
The pictures however are in order from Leeds to Liverpool. A mix of wonderful countryside and industrial past with many interesting places to see along the way and an abundance of nature. A thoroughly enjoyable adventure that we fully recommend.
All you need are the two canal maps, some stout shoes and coffee!
Of course there are also many very good books that give the history of its building up to the present day.
The pictures run from left to right and I have listed which section they relate to.
